Nneka Akudolu

Nneka is an extremely capable advocate who has developed a successful practice across the breadth of criminal defence in the Crown Court throughout the South East.  She has considerable experience in all areas of crime but in particular, serious assaults against the person, complex frauds, and serious sexual offences. Nneka is a Grade 3 prosecutor and on the accredited CPS rape list. Nneka is also frequently instructed to prosecute serious cases involving cruelty to children. She has a keen interest in Military Law and travels abroad to represent members of the Armed Forces.

Notable Cases

R v Deacon 2018
Acting as junior alone, defendant acquitted of Murder, (involving a row over 3 rocks of crack cocaine); convicted of Manslaughter.


R v Smith 2017
Represented a 17 year old defendant charged with a ‘honey trap’  Murder along with 4 Co defendants, acquitted of murder after pleading guilty to Manslaughter.


R v Abbe & Others 2016
Leading Junior Counsel (Leading Lucy Ginsberg) prosecution of three defendants for Conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

R v O’Leary 2017
Acting as junior alone, defended in a case involving a man charged with serious sexual assaults against his 3 step daughters.

R v O’Nell 2017
Acting as junior alone, prosecuted a Stranger rape committed in Camden Park.

R v Adeneye & Lucas 2017
Prosecuted a grandmother and her son for serious child cruelty offences against one of their young family members.


R v Amadasun 2017
Prosecution of a Pastor who systematically assaulted children within her congregation.


R v Robinson 2016
Prosecution of  a man who posed as premiership footballer, Loic Remy accused of raping a 60 year old woman.


R v Waters 2016
Prosecution of a man accused of multiple rapes committed against his biological daughter.


R v D 2015
Defended an Officer at Court Martial for rape and assault by penetration of his ex partner.

Nneka is qualified to accept instructions from members of the public having completed the accredited Direct Access Course provided by the Bar Council.
