Ben is one of the UK’s leading specialists in civil VAT and excise fraud, frequently instructed in some of the largest and most complex cases. Ben is instructed as junior, lead junior and to appear opposite silk.
He is a member of the Attorney General’s civil ‘B’ Panel and has significant experience in the First and Upper Tier Tax Tribunals, Court of Appeal and the High Court with respect to judicial review claims.
Ben was awarded a Prince of Wales scholarship by Gray’s Inn and prior to coming to the bar interned with the United Nations.
Ben is a member of the Revenue Bar Association and the Administrative Law Bar Association.
Ben has represented Hackney Central Ward as a Councillor since 2012. He spent four years on the Council of Governors at the Homerton University Hospital and currently chairs Hackney’s Health Scrutiny Commission.
