Chris Kerr and Ali Dewji Secure Conviction of a Man for Serious Sexual Offences Against 3 Women

22 August 2022

Stephen Hammond was convicted on all five counts by a jury at Norwich Crown Court after a trial lasting 15 days. The jury heard that he was a ‘sexual predator, who had targeted vulnerable women living in supported accommodation with a history of alcohol, drugs and mental health problems, luring them to a house in Norwich and then abusing them. He was also convicted of filming one of the incidents while the victim was unconscious. Mr Hammond had hoped to get away with it because the women were unlikely to make complaints, and, if they did complain, were unlikely to be believed. After his conviction, Mr Hammond was found by the judge to be dangerous and sentenced to an extended determinate sentence of 15 years.
